Location
Camp Baden-Powell is held at broadstone Warren National Campsite located 40 miles south of London in the village of Forest Row, Sussex. Situated in the historical Ashdown Forest, the facility consits of 385 acres. The troop sites are ideally located within the spacious hardwood glades and the terrain is well suited to testing all of Scouting's outdoor skills.
FacilitiesThe camp provides transportation to a nearby reservoir where boating and canoeing are taught. Cooking and drinking water is available near each site. Meals are prepared by patrol cooking and troops must furnish their own tentage and sleeping gear in addition to stoves and cooking equipment. The camp fee includes all foodstuffs, a complete program staff operating a traditional Scout summer camp program and site rental fees. Weekend meals are not provided to troops staying over the weekend, but a British food store on the campsite is available for any additional needs.
ProgramIn addition to the traditional summer camp programs, there is an excellent opportunity for London tours and visits to Gilwell Park at an additional cost. The camp also features tours, outpost camping, Paul Bunyon, orienteering and it offers in the neighborhood of 32 merit badges. Mines explorations are another feature of this camp.
