Camp Du Maroc
(Atlas Mtns, Morocco)

Period of Operation

1969? - 19??

Location

Camp Du Maroc, Morocco (Closed) was located south of Fes and east of Rabat in the Atlas Mountains. A small lake was on the camp property.

Facilities

The camp was supported entirely by the Military. Food was procured through the Commissary. Water was purified and a medicial personnel present. Scouts and leaders furnished their own personal tents, toilet articles, and equipment for sleeping and eating.

Program

Camp Du Maroc was a colorful tent city - like an Arab encampment at a desert oasis. Opportunities were available for swimming, out-of-camp hiking, and overnight camping (sort of like a safari without camels), pioneering, and all of the outdoor skills for ranks and merit badges leading to Eagle.
